The electric log can locate and determine the exact thickness and position of water bearing formations at a specific site.

This makes electric logging equipment a valuable tool to assist well drillers in finding water bearing formations.

Various types of logging equipment are available to well drillers, engineers and consultants. The most common type of logging equipment used for domestic water wells is the single-electrode electric logger.

This equipment measures and records the changes between an electrode placed in the test hole and a second electrode at the surface, usually in the mud pit.

The function of the electric logger is to provide a graphic representation of the electrical properties of the various formations encountered in a test hole.

Log is the perfil and logging is the action (perfilaje in Spanish). I had to translate a lot of that stuff from Spanish to English when I was Secretary to the Operations Manager of Shell Production in Argentina during the exploration of the Neuquén Basin. Regards.
