se suele utilizar "sistema de seguimiento de errores" pero esa no sería una traducción correcta, pues el homólogo en inglés es: "bug tracking system".

Like the Microsoft bilingual glossary says the translation of “tracking” is “seguimiento”.

The “software tracking solutions” are “programas de seguimiento”.
Possible translations:

- “programas de seguimiento”
- “soluciones de software de seguimiento”
- “soluciones de seguimiento”
- …..

Intel, GE, Siemens and other technology companies produce software and hardware to track patients with health problems. In some case, they also use GPS chips because frequently there are packages of software and hardware.

About my previous comment linked with Intel and GE, I would like to remember that in 2010, Intel and GE formed a healthcare joint-venture to develop software and hardware for better health solutions. In that moment, both companies invited international journalists to Santa Clara, California and they made a demonstration of a health tracking solution based in software and hardware with technology of both companies.

The experts of these companies in a panel, explained that they want to deploy all the capabilities of the technology to generate a complete home health-care system that gives seniors and chronic patients the possibilities to live in their own environment and feel safe thanks a total control of their cardiovascular disease, diabetes or other sickness problems that require permanent tracking and monitoring of the cardiac and respiratory symptoms and vital signals, plus a daily dose of medicine. This system will include different software tracking solutions working together with special digital devices.

During that event, General Electric showed a device named GE QuietCare that track remotely possible problems of seniors and sick people, alerting caregivers about changes of health symptoms and emergency situations.

On the other hand, Intel also showed its Intel Health Guide, a comprehensive personal health system combining an in-home patient device with an online interface to allow clinicians to monitor patients in their homes or other remote locations.

Other company that recently implemented different software tracking solutions is IBM. This company is working with hospital in US and other countries. IBM has a special division for health solutions with the more complex health tracking solutions.

Before also I mentioned Siemens. The health division of Siemens is using software that track radio signals through RFID devices installed in different sectors of the hospital and in the wrist of the patients.

The important point is that today there are a variety of software tracking solutions (soluciones de software de seguimiento con fines médicos o de salud). Some of these solutions work with special digital devices like electronic bracelets (Example: Siemens wristbands), chips implanted in the body of the patient (Example: “Angel Chip”), GE QuietCare devices or with normal personal computers like the classic home PC desktops.

The term: “programa” in Spanish means: “software”. You can use “software” or “programa” depending of the context.

Now, the Real Academia Española accepts “software” as Spanish word. Here you have the explanation of the Dictionary of the RAE:

“software. (Voz ingl.). 1. m. Inform. Conjunto de programas, instrucciones y reglas informáticas para ejecutar ciertas tareas en una computadora.”
