English term

inserted **word-wise** into the catalog

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering indexing system, querying
There are three activities for which the indexing system is responsible:
1) First, each file in the corpus must be enumerated through a process known as “crawling” or “scanning”.
2) Second, the complete contents of each of the files must be extracted and inserted **word-wise** into the catalog. This is termed “filtering”.
3) Third, the final responsibility of the indexing system is to report files that match a particular criterion, most often a set of keywords to be matched to content. This is commonly called “querying”.
